About the Web site

World Wide Web Architects

The Postcards web site was launched in September 1996 by World Wide Web Architects to compliment the Postcards TV program which first went to air in 1995. With 14,000 pages views in the first month the site was an instant success. It has now gone on to register in the millions of page views per year and continues to grow.

A simple and easy to use design, means that the site is very accessible to any visitor. The appearance of the site has changed a number of times now but has still retained this simple easy and quick loading format.

The “Previous Shows” archive now contains 1000's of Postcards stories which can be accessed via a simple alphabetical listing, or by a region, or by an area of interest, or by our search engine function.

We hope that you find the site very useful in planning your visit to any part of South Australia. And yes, do join our “Postcard from SA” mailing list to keep up with current events and lots of information on all sorts of interesting places to visit in our great state. Members also tell us that they enjoy entering the many competitions that go out with each Postcard.

It is a real pleasure working on this project. And our team of programmers, graphic artists still get excited each week updating the “This Weeks Show” file. Keith, Ron and his team always seem to come up with something new to amaze us.

We would also like to thank the Team at Channel 9 and especially Executive Producer Alan Hickey for his help with the supply of all the data that we require to make the Postcards web site such a useful resource for any one with an interest in South Australia
