The Postcards journey… with Lisa McAskill
I feel really blessed to have been part of the Postcards success it has allowed me to meet all sorts of fascinating , passionate people all pursuing their dreams and given me the opportunity to experience such a wide range of activities…. from being up close to a cheetah to flying in a Tigermoth.
I have particularly enjoyed our artist stories and the privilege of being invited into their world albeit only for a few hours to get a glimpse of how they see the world around them with an intensity overlooked by many of us and yet they feel compelled to recreate it.
Postcards has meant that I've had the opportunity to work with wonderful, talented producers from my early days with Mike Sexton and Robert Clarke to Ron Kandelaars and our current Executive Producer, Alan Hickey. All have produced great stories for me full of inspiring content. And I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute of it even when I think a few times they might have been setting me up.
All this wouldn't have been the same without a great crew. Many have played their part but I'd like to acknowledge Jeff Clayfield our cameraperson with the show from day one and who's been like a big bother to me and Brenda Richards on sound always good for a giggle. I can't end my piece without a few wonderful shots of the Flinders Ranges and K.I - my favourite places. There, I've said it. I hope over the years we have inspired and enthused you to get out and enjoy and be proud of this wonderful South Australia.
