Synagogue Place Market Bazaar: Ron is amazed by this musical marvel in the Adelaide City region of South Australia

What goes on in the hearts and minds of baby boomers when they step into this treasure trove of vinyl at the Market Bazaar in the East End? Well, for some they may think back to what they were doing and who they were with when they first heard this or that particular classic. Others enter with a very definite album in mind, knowing they can get it thanks to avid collectors like, John Siviour.

"We spend every spare second of our day sort of hunting around sourcing records and trying to have a collection we can be proud of," said John.

John, like the other collectors who jumped on board to establish Market Bazaar, started out with a stall at the now defunct Orange Lane Markets in Norwood. Now they continue the tradition in a backstreet in the city's East End.

"We came together by accident I guess with the idea of developing an experience that was something unique to Adelaide."

Stickers on the albums give a clue as their rarity and worth and when you see albums like a Russian pressing of a Bob Marley classic you can't help but wonder where you are. There are plenty of other oddities like a Skyhooks 'Living in the Seventies' album pressed in gold vinyl to complement the cover.

The store isn't just attractive to baby boomers. A few members of Generation 'X' have also been spun out by the Market Bazaar experience.

"They've never had the experience of a turn table at home," said John. "They are finding a whole new experience."

The Market Bazaar is in Synagogue Place in the East End. It trades seven days a week from eleven until 5pm and late nights on Friday. If you have any further questions please email info@postcards-sa.com.au
