Wedd Exhibition

HG Nelson, that irreverent television and radio personality describes this bloke as a weird and wild guy running amok with a heap of mud on a potter's wheel. In fact, HG likes his ceramics so much that he bought this piece, a Gerry Wedd classic, with a standard motif for a potter who's also a seven time South Australian surfing champion.

For Gerry, the themes are universal, but the settings are more often than not, very local like the temptation of Adam and Eve under the ubiquitous Hills Hoist. For some this work is witty and irreverent, for others a little over the edge and that's probably why the Mambo team chose him to provide the art work for much of their clothing. Gerry Wedd's exhibition Mambo Jambo is on at the Country Arts SA office on McLaren Parade, Port Adelaide until 19th November open 9am to 5pm Sun 1pm to 4pm .
