National Tree DayNational Tree Day with Ron Kandelaars: At various locations around Adelaide

Ambers Gully in the Black Hill Conservation Park at Athelstone looks a treat and some of the credit for this haven of floral biodiversity goes to kids like those from Paradise Primary School. Many have worked under the watchful eye of Graham Churchett from Landcare planting various shrubs and trees.

We caught up with a group organised by Northpoint Toyota, which called on the horticultural skills of Power Players, Steven Salopek and Stephen Gilham. These kids will be out in force again for National Tree Planting Day in July.

According to Graham every plant counts. "It's something we won't see the benefit of until the plants have matured. But I've got children who come back to plantings they've done in the past and they're several years old now. They says I planted that and they're proud of it."

To be involved in National Tree Day, it's on 31 July 2005.
