Garden tips with Michael Keelan
I bet many of you over the years have tried to grow cucumbers and have had mixed success. Some years they grow really well. Sometimes you have trouble - they end up a bit soft. Well I can tell you about a cucumber that is almost bullet proof. It's called an Armenian cucumber.
It's fairly long and is easy to grow. Just like a normal cucumber it needs rich, well-drained soil. It’s just superb to eat - you can eat the skin and all. You can grow it on the ground but you can also grow it on a trellis like a passionfruit.
The Armenian cucumber. It's one of the Fothergill's Heirloom seed range - think about it for next season.
