Milang Lakes MotelMilang Lakes Motel: At Milang, in the Fleurieu Peninsula region of South Australia

The Milang Lakes Motel has provided serene holidays on the shores of Lake Alexandrina since 1989.

From 1997 and onwards, Pauline (the Motel’s proud hostess) has owned and managed the place by herself.

She encapsulates the Milang Lakes Motel as a friendly place, where guests grow ever reluctant to depart. Pauline has experienced some wonderful times at the Motel and often observes that, “guests arrive and friends leave”.

The Motel overlooks Lake Alexandrina (the largest freshwater body in Australia), and is separated only by Daranda Terrace, a quiet road. Guests can enjoy the best of both natural and man-made environments.

Opt to take pleasure in the wild and unblemished view of the wetlands, or relax in the Motel’s lovely gardens, which come alive with dazzling colour and activity in spring.

There is very little heavy transport travelling through the roads of Milang, it is an exceptionally quiet place. Silence, therefore is one of Milang Lakes Motel’s greatest assets. Enjoy the peace but like the convenience of Adelaide simply being a short trip away. The Milang Lakes Motel makes a good base for a range of holidaymakers including overseas / interstate tourists, families, business people and couples.

There is not much to do at the Milang Lakes Motel - but that’s the appeal and aim of the motel. The frogs and crickets sing at night. The Motel’s resident ducks roam the area (they are quite well known in Milang now). Swans, pelicans and other wetland wildlife can be spotted in the light of day. But visitors come mostly to soak up the tranquillity and to de-stress. If you can’t keep still for too long, there are fresh water sports like windsurfing and sailing to dabble in. Bowling, tennis and fishing are also options to consider, but often, they can all sound like too much work!

Close to many of the region’s attractions, the Milang Lakes Motel is near the award winning wineries of Langhorne Creek and what's more, is not far from Newman’s Horse Radish Farm (for all your condiment needs). The Motel is a quick stroll to other conveniences situated in Milang. If needs be, Adelaide is a brief 55 minute journey from the Motel, and access to the Melbourne freeway is relatively easy. Many visitors to Kangaroo Island use the Milang Lakes Motel as a stop-off point as they switch from the freeway at Wellington.

There are 12 ground floor units at the Motel and all boast of views to the lake and surrounding wetlands. The Milang Lakes Motel offers many modern facilities, newly acquired beds (generally queen size), air conditioning, microwaves and tea/coffee making facilities. Pauline is proud to present very clean premises and can also offer non-smoking units at exceptionally reasonable tariffs (including a light breakfast). The Motel’s grounds further include barbeque and playground areas.

Why not enjoy the calm and all-year-round mild climate of Milang? At night, why not watch the stars in an unpolluted sky? Getaway from the stress of fast paced living at the Milang Lakes Motel.
