Flinders Challenge Sheepdog TrialsFlinders Challenge Sheepdog Trials Jamestown: Lisa experiences some rural lifestyle in the Mid North region of South Australia

The uncanny bond between a stockman and his dog is a real crowd pleaser. Dog trainer, Ben Page should know. His property, near Melrose in the Southern Flinders Ranges is abuzz during school holidays with people flooding in to see the 'dog whisperer' at work.

The day the Postcards team was there he was showing off a little dog named Tinkerbell. He said she's a 'work in progress' who is coming along nicely like all his other kelpies.

Ben and his dogs and another 200 from around the country will converge on Jamestown next weekend as part of the Flinders Challenge Sheepdog Trial. They're amazing dogs who get themselves in and out of the most amazing places. If you want to see these magnificent creatures at work head to the Jamestown Showgrounds. The Flinders Challenge is on from Friday to Sunday. And we'll bring you a more in depth look at Ben's amazing gift with these animals later in the year.
