Far Horizons ToursFar Horizons Tours: Travelling the World

Off the Beaten Track in Comfort and Style

More of a Travel Club than a tour company, Martin Wright's Far Horizons has become a magnet for small group tours of non-group people to Earth's most exotic locations.

Ailsa Calvert from Hobart, Tasmania (recently returned from her 17th Far Horizons Tour) writes: "It was nice meeting up with four people I knew on the 'Zanzibar to Timbuctoo' tour and two on the 'Nile Horizons' tour'."

Bill and Gay Rowe of Kenmore, Queensland, will be taking their 24th and 21st tours (respectively) when they join other Far Horizons stalwarts Peter and Rosemary Balmford of East Ivanhoe, Victoria, on 'Arctic Horizons' next July.

James Jeffrey of The Weekend Australian asked Martin Wright, 'What's the essence of a good trip?'

Far Horizons Tours"Far Horizons Tours take people who've been there, done that. It's important to have a compatible group and to show them the best of everything. If there's a personality clash, it's up to the tour escort to sort things out. But because we go to unusual places, we tend to attract people of like minds and like interests".

Our Tours are complete in every detail. Apart from including the standard items, like all meals, hotels, transportation and sightseeing, Far Horizons tours are also inclusive of many other items which create annoyance and embarrassment in addition to added and unexpected expense. Therefore, we include all airport taxes, all entrance fees, any 'optional' cultural events, folkloric shows, 'son et lumiere' performances, all tipping (hotel porters, local guides, cruise staff) right down to free bottled drinking water at all times. The only items which we do not include are personal items, such as laundry, drinks, telephone calls, and souvenirs.

Far Horizons ToursMartin Wright established Far Horizons in Australia in 1975 and since then has operated over 100 tours to more than 150 countries and geographical regions. Tour passengers come from many different countries. Because of the unique nature of Far Horizon's destinations, we attract a number of international visitors. Many passengers, Australian's included, fly independently to the tours first port of call and depart at the end of the itinerary for home or head off on another adventure.
