Dusty - The Original Pop Diva

Dusty - The Original Pop Diva: Lisa reviews this performance in the Adelaide City region of South Australia

"Dusty - The Original Pop Diva", is a musical based on the life of Britain's white lady of soul. The show opens in Adelaide on Wednesday (26 July 2006) at the Festival Theatre.

Tamsin Carroll plays the part of Dusty Springfield who began her career as the shy 1950s middleclass Irish Catholic schoolgirl, Mary O'Brien. With stars in her eyes she went on to become one of the world's leading pop icons with a string of hits - 17 alone between 1963 and 1969.

Tamsin will be singing to the converted at Festival Theatre as she belts out the classics. She'll be joined on stage by Deni Hines, in the role of Reno. Hers is a fictional composite character of some of Dusty's real life companions and friends.

Dusty Springfield died in 1999, a few weeks before her sixtieth birthday, having left a lasting musical legacy. If you have any further questions please email info@postcards-sa.com.au
