Corus Grosvenor Hotel Corus Grosvenor Hotel: Adelaide City

The Grosvenor, as it was known from its inception in 1920, was a temperance hotel, and continued to be so until 1970, when it became a corporate hotel to meet the changing needs of Adelaide. It had become a prominent Adelaide landmark, with historical significance to the city and the residents of the state. It changed ownership again in 1990, joining 92 other United Kingdom properties, together with 3 in Malaysia to form the Corus and Regal group.

Following recent extensive refurbishment, the Corus Grosvenor Hotel with 243 guest rooms and suites, delightfully blends fresh contemporary style with old-world charm. Seven elegant function rooms can cater for all requirements in fine style. Accomodating from 10 to 300, it is the perfect venue for a business meeting, conference, product launch, dinner dance or wedding reception. A comprehensive range of audio-visual gear , microphones, TV’s, VHS players, overhead projectors and other equipment can be arranged, ensuring the success of any conference or meeting.

The new and improved image of the Corus Grosvenor will enhance Adelaide’s reputation as a desirable destination for conventions, business and leisure. Perfectly situated on the wide, tree-lined boulevarde that is Adelaide’s North Terrace, the Corus Grosvenor is opposite the Casino and Convention Centre, and minutes from the Festival Theatre, Art Gallery and the wonderful shops and arcades of Rundle Mall.

There is nothing better than staying in a hotel which has a commitment to keeping things simple, but doing them well. Often, hotels are places where formality and standardisation have become the norm. At the Corus Grosvenor, there are no pretentious gimmicks, just the simple things done well. No stuffiness, but a genuine warm welcome combined with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Joey’s Restaurant and Bar is on the ground floor, and is a favourite meeting place. Open daily between 10am and 11.30pm, it is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing drink or experience the Chef’s delights, while watching the world pass by on North Terrace. Lunch is served daily from 12 noon to 2.30m, and Dinner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.
