Belair National Park: Belair Day Belair National Park: Belair Day

Those with a love of the Australian bush and its array for wildlife, should head to Belair National Park next Saturday for this year's Parks and Wildlife Festival. It's all part of World Environment Day with the focus on South Australians appreciating the biodiversity which exists in their National Parks. The Festival provides an opportunity for people to understand the challenges facing our parks and the many animals that live in them. Activities will include demonstrations by the Marsupial Society on caring for injured and orphaned animals. And there's sustenance for all who attend with tastings of exotic native foods. While other attractions will include Aboriginal music and dance. Those who like to get up close and personal with nature can take part in the interactive reptile displays. You can also help protect an conserve the local environment by joining the National Park Foundation's inaugural fund-raising event, "Walk for Wildlife". The Foundation is encouraging as many people as possible to join the walk with money raised going back into conservation projects in South Australian National Parks.

The walk gets underway at 10am at the Belair Railway Station and ends at the Parks and Wildlife Festival on the main oval at Belair National Park on Upper Stuart Road. The Festival runs from 10am until 4pm. Admission is free. For more information you can email info@postcards-sa.com.au
